ABOUT ABI
Performing has been a constant element in Abi's life.
Her father, Chris, was a guitarist on the seminal 1960s TV rock show Six Five Special and was a session musician with the Beatles when he was a columnist on the Melody Maker. Abi spent her formative years walking to nursery and primary school past the Rocky Horror Show which was on for years on the corner of her street. She went to Cobham Hall, a posh girls boarding school in Kent, and then to Swansea University where she gained a degree in Russian and, more importantly, lots of experience going to night clubs, drinking during the day and smoking various substances.
At Swansea she started to make her mark on the stage in various student productions and finally entered the Bristol Old Vic theatre school after a false start as a PA to a Russian Mafia boss in Piccadilly.
The man in her life is called Harry. He is blonde, extremely good looking and makes her laugh. He particularly enjoys it when Abi throws him onto the sofa, or looks through one of his favourite pop-up books such as The Very Smiley Snowman. Harry still lives with his parents, Abi's sister Elly and her husband Jim, and will be 2 in August 2007.
